I receive spam calls starting with the same 6 digits as my own mobile number. What can I do ?

Among spammers methods, we noticed some incoming calls from numbers that start with the same first 6 digits of your own mobile phone number.

For example, you mobile number is +33 6 84 85 86 87 and you receive a call from +33 6 84 85 62 14.

If it is an unknown number from you, this number has good chance to be a spammer (you can even notice it if you answer once such a call).

Orange Phone proposes you a simple solution to avoid this kind of spam : use the feature Block a range of numbers and block all numbers starting with the first 6 digits of your own mobile number:

• from the menu Settings / Call blocking and reports / Blocking of numbers/countries / Block a range of numbers, you can choose the start and end of the range

If inside the range, there is a number that shouldn't be considered as spam for you and shouldn't be blocked:

• even blocked, such a number can leave you a message on your voicemail so you can decide if it is a good or bad number
• you can create a contact for this number to identify it in a better way
• you can redefine the ranges for blocking by excluding this number in particular
