Work Contacts is supposed to maintain an active session with the Azure directory of the company.
Then, Work Contacts will be able to answer any request from Orange Phone during a call or a search and send back the directory data corresponding to the requested name or number.
Maintaining the session is done in background by Work Contacts app.
Activating the Low Power Mode on the device can limit the usage of data in background.
In that case, if the limitation is activated, Work Contacts cannot assure the maintenance of the session with the Azure directory..
What impact?
When data in background are restricted for Work Contacts, the session with the directory may not be automatically kept.
Then when Orange Phone requests Work Contacts to get information on a number during a call or a name during a search, Work contacts will not be able to answer:
-
- a notification is raised by Work Contacts to ask to relaunch the app and reconnect (if notification permission is granted)
- a warning is also raised on Orange Phone to inform the user of this session lost, and ask to relaunch Work contacts
If data in background are limited, this notification or this warning in Orange Phone will be displayed almost for each call!
We strongly recommend to activate the data in background for Work Contacts even in Low Power Mode, to keep a permanent access to the directory.
The terms used in the settings of the device can be different depending on the manufacturer, but you must activated, for Work Contacts, the following settings:
- Authorize usage of data in background
- Authorize usage of data in background when low power mode is activated
